Spontaneous Trips...

OOne thing about me that isn't too hard to find out is that I'm a planner. I like to have my days blocked off just as such, with designated travel times in between events. I use a planner to maximize my day, and really get the most of my time. However, yesterday I got the most spontaneous text message. It was from my cousin Xavier. the conversation went as followed:

Xavier: "Are you free tomorrow?"
Rickey: "Yes, what's going on?"
Xavier: "Want to go to Atlanta?"

I was a little alarmed and shocked that Xavier and his sister Kayla wanted to go to Atlanta on such short notice. I definitely had to think deeply about my day, and if I could afford to go out of town, however, I agreed to go on the trip.

Today, we took Kayla's Baby Blue Volkswagen Beetle up I-20 towards Atlanta. Xavier and I aren't strangers to roadtrips to Atlanta, however, this was my first time going to Atlanta with Kayla, and I was very excited. Kayla had a very important tennis lesson, so Xavier and I were free to go around the city. We headed straight for our favorite spot... Lenox Square. Xavier and I walked around Lenox Mall for about 30 minutes, and sat down for Chiptole for me (Chicken Salad. No Rice.) and Xavier ate the state favorite Chickfila. While we were sitting at lunch, we had another brief conversation.

Xavier: "You know where I really want to take you?"
Rickey: "Where?"
Xavier: "Phipps Plaza."

For those of you that don't know, Phipps Plaza is home to some of the finest retailers in the world, including Saks Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom, Jeffrey and so many more. I was excited, because I wanted to experience it for myself.

I cannot begin to tell you the inspiration that I felt walking through Phipps Plaza. Many people don't understand my passion for fashion, and some people never will. However, to go into Versace, Tory Burch, Kate Spade and so many other names that I know and recognize was truly captivating and breathtaking.

Seeing all of the beautiful garments in the stores, really showed me that fashion is real. I kind of live in this fantasy world where I just go around life, however, seeing these things for myself makes it so real.
